Festival airfares 2026

Why are Indians paying international fares for domestic flights? What's the fix?

📍 India

Diwali and Chhath 2026: one-way tickets home cost more than a flight abroad. Mumbai to Patna touched about ₹25,000 (Aaj Tak, Oct 2026). Delhi to Ranchi was shown at ₹18,334 while Delhi to Bangkok was ₹13,399 (one traveller's screenshot, Curly Tales, 9 Oct 2026). In a LocalCircles survey of about 20,000 flyers (ThePrint, 16 Oct 2026), 54% said they pay over 50% more than in 2025. Trains to Bihar show waiting lists and "Regret". The civil aviation minister said there will be no fare cap this festive season; the Centre told the Supreme Court that airfare rules are final, and the next hearing is on 16 Nov 2026. IndiGo and Air India together hold about 90% of the domestic market (H1 2026).

Expired food in quick commerce

10-minute delivery of expired food. Would you still order?

📍 Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, India

On 24 Oct 2026, Maharashtra FDA suspended the food licence of Blinkit's warehouse in Bhiwandi. FDA says its 21 Oct inspection found 18,405 expired, damaged or rejected items worth about ₹32.71 lakh, with no traceability or destruction records, and it fears the stock could return to the market. An FIR has been filed at Bhiwandi Taluka police station against senior Blinkit personnel and scrap-disposal vendors (IndianWeb2, NDTV Profit). Earlier in Oct 2026 the FDA suspended licences of Reliance and Eternal (Blinkit/Hyperpure) units, and in Aug 2026 it suspended a Blinkit dark store in Malad. Buyers have also posted videos of expired items they received from quick-commerce apps. We hand-sorted 88 YouTube comments that took a clear side. So, would you still order? Opinions only. Not linked to Blinkit, Eternal, Reliance or the FDA.
