AI layoffs in IT: Do you feel your job is safe?

Layoffs are hitting tech jobs again. Oracle's workforce fell by about 21,000 in a year, and reports say more than half of those cuts were in India. TCS cut over 23,000 jobs in FY26, Cognizant planned 12,000–15,000 cuts, and Amazon has removed about 30,000 corporate roles since late 2025, with more small cuts in October 2026. In the July–September 2026 quarter, Wipro's headcount fell by 6,716 while TCS and HCLTech added people. Companies say AI is changing the skills they need.
